I am slowly replacing my laptop with AWS Workspace, and you should too

This is for only serial Internet Marketers who don't mind spending a few bucks a month for a more secure, convenient desktop solution.

For those who don't know, AWS Workspace is AWS's "Desktop as a service" solution.
You can have Windows or Linux desktops at any configuration, login virtually from any platform.

My laptop is powerful enough, but I rely on it quite a bit. If I mess up my laptop for any number of reasons - I am screwed. It kinda happened once (spilled hot coffee on my keyboard) and I learned my lesson.

I was looking for a reliable "Cloud Desktop" solution. Who is more reliable when it comes to the cloud than AWS?

I am slowly moving everything to my "Cloud Desktop", Intenet is blazing fast. My development works have been very productive.

Thinking of purchasing a more "lightweight" travel-ready laptop, which will only serve to access my cloud desktop.

Sounds like a good idea tbh. What does it cost to have this monthly and yearly? What's the configuration of your aws desktop like?

@javabro what about lagging, you know that cursor drag when you connect to a normal RDP/VPS, do they have it? Never tried actually something like this, but I consider using it, that's why I'm asking. Do you have lags let's say when connected from a normal 4G speed?

Thank you!

^^ This, the only reason why RDP solutions would never work as a primary for me is the lag. It will always be there, it's not the same as working in a local environment. I think a better solution would be to turn your home computer into a remote solution so if/when you travel you could pull out the shitty laptop and connect to your monster machine at home :)

I think it will only benefit Developers and Programmers who are traveling most of the time.

Not going to trust Amazon...the way they treat their seller and affiliate is terrible. They don't give a fuck.

This is my primary concern as well. Any amount of latency over RDP is incredibly frustrating, especially for development.

Nowadays laptops are small and powerful so u can carry a good one with u without being an inconvenience I would take aws workspace as my backup plan because lets suppose that u just went to a client meeting u are going to show something really cool about the project but the signal is too bad in the conference room that u can??t even connect to the workspace ;)
