I'm not going to make specific references nor will I state names, but I want to make clear a few points I have on my mind as today we lost another member that I enjoyed seeing in our community very much.
Guys, as MODs have mentioned numerous times here, no one, and I mean no one, is immune to the rules set forth by this community. It's very, very sad to see well-respected and highly-active members losing their accounts over rule violations they likely feel they're immune to due to status.
Well let me tell everyone here something, no matter your status, no matter your activity, no matter your contributions, you break the rules and over-step the boundaries in place you are just as much susceptible to the rules as a day-one registered member.
My reason for saying this is because I'm saddened by the many members I enjoyed seeing here now gone, I can name multiple from the past few months alone and it sucks. I don't want to keep seeing members go, slowly but surely, we're losing some of the best and most-active members here, and that's not at the fault of MODs or the forum but of the rule-breaking member.
Guys, if you don't know the rules, read them. If you believe your comment too closely skirts the rules, don't post it. If you're unsure an action you're about to take is within forum rules, ask a MOD for clarification. Also, don't be disrespectful to MODs, one of my favorite members here was banned not long ago for MOD abuse so be courteous and stay respectful at all times.
This recent banning bothered me to the point that I felt inclined to make this post, I really don't want to keep seeing members I enjoy seeing here banned and I encourage everyone here to closely follow the rules and to not take actions that would even remotely jeopardize your account.
Without rules we would live among the animals, BHW has rules, and everyone needs to understand that there aren't exemptions because they have "been here for ten years" or because they "have ten thousand posts" or because they have "made many contributions".
You break the rules you break the rules and action will be taken (from what we've witnessed as of late). I don't want to see anyone else go, please be cautious of your actions, respect members/MODs, and reread the rules if need be (you could be saving yourself).
That's all, I apologize for the rant, just sucks to see members I care about here gone.
Have a good weekend all and hope everyone is staying safe.
